Hollis, NH kitchen remodel — before & after

This Hollis family loved their home but not their kitchen: a closed-in peninsula, dark granite, a microwave over the range and a hutch that swallowed the dining corner. We reworked the whole footprint around a white oak island and added a walk-in pantry — same square footage, a completely different kitchen.

The old peninsula boxed the kitchen in. Replacing it with a full white oak island opened the room and added four seats, prep space and a microwave drawer.

The over-the-range microwave came out and a custom white oak hood went in, flanked by cabinets sized for the new pro range and a brass pot filler.

That corner became a stained glass-front display cabinet run leading to a new walk-in pantry behind reeded-glass wood doors.

Two-tone cabinetry — soft white perimeter with a stained white oak island — keeps the space warm without feeling dark.

Deep drawer stacks replaced lower doors throughout, so pots, pans and everyday items are all within one reach.
